 evolvotron 0.5.1 (Default)
Section: Unix

Added: Fri, Jan 17th 2003 07:26 UTC (5 years, 7 months ago) Updated: Wed, Nov 28th 2007 07:13 UTC (9 months, 13 days ago)

Screenshot About:
Evolvotron is an interactive "generative art" application to evolve images/textures/patterns through an iterative process of random mutation and user-selection driven evolution. If you like lava lamps, and never got tired of the Mandelbrot set, this could be the software for you. It's implemented using Qt, and is multithreaded.

Release focus: Minor feature enhancements

Changes:
The little-used heat/cool/irradiate/shield buttons have been replaced by an optional steady progressive "autocooling" mechanism. Middle-mouse adjustments no longer flicker. Antialiased rendering is supported by optional multisampling and sample jittering. Enlargement images will now use multiple threads, and their command-line options provide more control over threading. However, there are no new functions in this release, so the range of images possible is the same as with 0.5.0.
