About:
MAD is a high-quality MPEG audio decoder capable of 24-bit output. All computations are performed with fixed-point integer arithmetic, making it ideal for systems without a floating-point unit. The implementation is entirely new, based on the ISO/IEC standards.

Release focus: Minor feature enhancements

Changes:
A fix for a problem decoding MPEG-2 Layer III intensity stereo, support for Layer III ancillary data extraction, an enhanced API, improved portability, and other bugfixes in libmad. The plugin for Winamp has Xing VBR header support, full file decode, and an improved 24- and 32-bit output visuals display.
