About:
XMLDB uses an RDBMS to persist arbitrary XML documents. Due to its storage mechanism, searching for and recalling documents is extremely quick. You can also perform XSL translation on documents with surprising speed. The library can be used in any program to store libxml2 documents. A PHP module is also included, making XMLDB into a complete three-tier Web application development suite.
Release focus: Major feature enhancements
Changes:
Some developer documentation has been added, and some tweaks have been made to
protagonist. The licensing issues have been cleaned up. xmldb is (and always
was intended to be) under the GNU LGPL. This is now more clear in the source
and documentation. Attributes are now supported, but the schema support still
doesn't know about them. All database access is now abstracted away from the
main library, so writing drivers for other databases is now quite trivial.
