AvantFAX allows users on any platform to view and send faxes without having to install special software. It also allows administrators to manage users, their permissions, fax lines, fax categories, etc. AvantFAX can be accessed from the local network and remotely via Internet using standard networking equipment.
CVSup is a software package for transferring and updating collections of files across a network. It consists of a server called cvsupd and a client called cvsup. CVSup is faster (often by an order of magnitude) and more flexible than traditional network packages such as rdist and sup. In addition, CVSup has special knowledge of RCS files (as used by CVS). Software projects using CVSup to distribute their CVS repositories include FreeBSD, KDE, and (shortly) Postgres.
Faxfrontend is a clean way to print to fax while using a desktop. It provides a GUI interface to print to fax using CUPS to Hylafax. When you print, a box pops up that lets you provide the fax number or find the number to use from the built in address book. It can also run as a standalone application to fax files or just a cover sheet.
FIGlet is a program for making large letters out of ordinary text. It prints its input using large characters (called 'FIGcharacters') made up of ordinary screen characters (called 'sub-characters'). FIGlet output is generally reminiscent of the sort of 'signatures' many people like to put at the end of email and UseNet messages. It is also reminiscent of the output of some banner programs, although it is oriented normally, not sideways.
