Rhinohide is a Java implementation of the W3C DOM, layered over a Web browser's native JavaScript. Comparable to Sun's Common DOM API, it provides an interface for applets to manipulate their containing Web pages, using a standard Java binding of the DOM. Coverage is still incomplete, but full support is provided for Core Level 1 and partial support for Core Level 2 and 3, XML, Events, Traversal, and Range.

Screenpager is a screenwise pager for X workstations running Xinerama. It works like a desktop pager, but acts at the level of screens. Instead of paging the desktop as a whole, it can page each screen independently, or move pages from screen to screen.

Textbender is a system of collaborative writing based on recombinant text. It implements a social Web medium with potential applications ranging from open art to open democracy. The underlying mechanism is evolutionary genetics: the text exists as a population of variants, one per author; authors swap fragments and arrangements of the text, peer to peer; and genes encode a traceable record of authorship throughout. Initial development is aimed at creative works, particularly at short verse and prose.

Votorola is communityware for building consensus and reaching decisions. Installed in your home town, it functions as a primary electoral system, one in which the candidates are chosen by open, cross-party consensus. The backbone of the system is a peer-to-peer voting mechanism that allows for recursive delegation, unrestricted nomination, and continuous vote shifting. Its voter lists are authenticated by a neighborhood trust network. An interface to collaborative writing sites (upcoming beta) will extend the voting to legislation, plans, and policies.
